NEW ENGLAND URBAN MUSIC AWARDS

BOSTON – The New England Urban Music Awards announced the nominees for the 2008 show. The third annual event will feature Michael Jackson tribute performances by New England’s outstanding musical contributors at the Berklee Performance Center. Special awards for will go to Margo Thunder for Woman of the Year and Dwayne Omarr for Man of the Year.
This year’s star-studded event will be hosted by the voices of the community, the Touch 106.1FM family and will feature celebrities and guest performances by: Tashawn King, Lola Bonita, D-Quest, Jamal Edegu, Kena Sage, Makio, Bre, Section 8, Stephanie Millions, Origination and many others. The New England Urban Music Awards was created in 2006 as an outlet to acknowledge the achievements of previously unrecognized local and regional urban artists, producers, DJs, and promoters. These talents are instrumental to the R&B, Hip Hop, Jazz, and Gospel music scene.

Established in 2006, the Urban Music Awards is a non-profit community organization dedicated to building the New England profile of urban music. Urban Music Awards offers workshops, seminars and artist showcases to community members and stakeholders, in addition to this annual signature awards show.
