Quintessence Edutainment presents: A Walk with Nanny: A Journey Through Caribbean Folklore a fun 45 minute educational and highly interactive play. It is unique, emphasizing core values such as tradition, responsibility, leadership, teamwork, overcoming the loss of family, all while giving a brief history lesson. This play focuses on Nanny, Jamaica’s only Female Heroin, and her journey from Africa to Jamaica. It covers how she led her people to freedom and healed mourning hearts by giving them survival skills, hope and faith. This workshop is a storytelling adventure led by Auntie ToRena and Cousin David with song, dance, and drumming centered on traditions and values.
You will walk away with self confidence, a sense of community, the need to start a tradition, the importance of teamwork, and an introduction to life skills. For more information please contact: quintainment@yahoo.com 617-953-5315
Available for school performances, residencies and workshops. A Walk with Nanny is convenient, cost effective and can be customized to suit any audience level. Once a show is booked I will send you a fun filled curriculum packet which includes resource information, songs, fun activities and discussion topics for before or after the workshop.
